Please note that only 25 students will be admitted each year. The priority deadline for applications is February 5. All applicants must be interviewed by the Honors Academy Admissions Committee. Decisions will be made by February 15. Students must preschedule classes by April 10 to hold their slots. Applications received after February 5 will be considered if the 25 available slots are not filled by students meeting the priority deadline. Once all slots are filled, remaining applicants will be interviewed and placed on a waiting list in case slots become available.

Scholarship Renewal: (1) Students must maintain a cumulative 3.25 GPA. (2) Students must maintain satisfactory progress toward their Honors Academy degrees each semester. (3) Students must abide by all rules and regulations of the Honors Academy Student Handbook. Failure to meet any of these standards may result in suspension or expulsion from the Honors Academy program.

Applicants must schedule an interview with the Admissions Committee before any award can be given. Interviews cannot be scheduled until the applicant’s file, including all references and admission to Howard Payne University, is complete. Prospective applicants should review the Membership and Scholarship Requirements prior to submitting an application, as the Honors Academy requires minimum SAT/ACT scores as well as minimum GPA/class rank. Applications that do not meet these minimum qualifications may not be considered. It is also highly recommended that applicants review the academic curriculum of the program prior to applying and/or interviewing with the Admissions Committee.
