Professor Harmon presented a paper on the topic of Teaching Aesthetics in Art Appreciation at the 29th Annual National Conference of Liberal Arts and the Education of Artists in New York City, October 23-25, 2015. Harmon had a work selected for an exhibition entitled White on White at the Louise K. Underwood Center for the Arts in Lubbock, Texas, December 2015-January 2016. He and his wife, Susan, an adjunct art professor at HPU, have duet exhibitions scheduled at both Temple College, Temple, Texas, January 30-April 3, 2016, and the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor, February 11-March 5, 2016. Both artists will give public lectures about their work on January 30, 7:00-9:00pm (Temple College) and February 11, 2016, 6:00-8:00pm (UMHB).
Adjunct art professor Susan Harmon had her painting accepted as a permanent mural for the City of San Marcos, Texas, in fall 2015. The large mural will be transformed into a vinyl mural for public display in the downtown area. Harmon’s work was also included in two exhibitions at West Beth Gallery, NY, NY, and The Windsor Art Center, Windsor, Ontario, fall 2015. Susan’s work has been accepted for a solo exhibition at Angelo State University’s Gallery 193 for summer 2016. She is also participating in the aforementioned exhibitions along with her husband, David Harmon.
