Dean, School of Music and Fine Arts

Supervises and coordinates the Music, Art, Theatre and Communications departments within the school, providing for education in the arts and development of those programs. The dean teaches an annual course load of 12 credit hours in his or her discipline. The School of Music and Fine Arts is comprised of fifteen full-time and seven adjunct faculty.

Assistant Vice President of Facilities and Planning

Responsible for managing and maintaining campus-wide facilities and housing totaling 600,000 square feet, grounds and landscaping, athletic complexes, custodial services, facilities infrastructure, mechanical systems, utilities, vehicle fleet and equipment. Exercises professional level skill in fulfilling responsibilities. Develops and manages complex budgets and cost estimates, develops and implements preventative maintenance schedules on buildings and machinery, schedules work priorities for the division and evaluates workmanship, develops technical specifications and solicits/evaluates bids, coordinates contractor work, ensures quality results and timely execution, maintains safety programs, ensures campus compliance with international building codes, fire safety standards, accessibility standards and environmental laws. Works with contracted design professionals and recommends actions for campus planning. Provides leadership in planning and directing renovations and construction projects with professional level skill. Serves on the Emergency Response Team. Provides support and setups for major university events. Ensures exemplary service and positive interaction with the campus community, members of the public and governmental officials. Occasionally works weekends and/or after hours. The Assistant Vice President directs three supervisors and is responsible for 35 employees.

Graphic Designer/Web Editor

The graphic designer/web editor is responsible for the creation of a wide variety of print and electronic publications and other items to communicate Howard Payne University’s image and messages to on- and off-campus constituencies. Responsibilities include the conceptualization, design and production supervision of logos, promotional items, special-event material, brochures and advertising, along with ensuring the University’s website and social media platforms are regularly updated and creatively utilized to effectively maximize the University’s online presence. A key part of this role is the development of good working relationships with offices and departments across campus and at the University’s extension centers. The graphic designer/web editor reports to the Assistant Vice President for Communications and works with additional personnel, including student workers, in the Office of University Marketing and Communications.

Vice President for Finance and Administration

The vice president for finance and administration directs and coordinates financial and administrative support services for the university by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities personally or through subordinate supervisors. The president may assign other duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include planning, directing and leading the financial and administrative operations of the university. As a member of the president’s Administrative Council, the vice president for finance and administration serves in a leadership role and provides timely and accurate data used in decision-making, strategic planning and facilities master planning for the university.

Systems Administrator

The Systems Administrator is responsible for managing and administering selected server systems, personal computer systems, providing systems and personal computer support and supervising student workers by performing the job duties listed in the Job Description. The AVP for IT Services may assign other duties.

Resident Director (Women’s Residence Hall)

The full-time Resident Director is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of the university’s Residence Life program within her assigned women’s residence hall. The Resident Director is expected to maintain extensive contact with students, including evenings and weekends. The Resident Director should be guided by a sense of mission to Christian higher education, a commitment to the personal development of college students, a commitment to excellence, an orientation to performance, and a high degree of stamina.

Dean of Libraries

Plans for long-range library growth and administers and directs daily library operations by performing the Essential Duties and Responsibilities listed in the Job Description. The Provost may assign other duties.

Assistant Athletic Trainer

The Assistant Athletic Trainer is responsible for assisting the Head Athletic Trainer with all aspects of medical services for all athletic practices and events for the university; supervise the athletic training students; maintain medical records, athletic insurance, budget for the training department, and serve as NCAA drug education and testing coordinator. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will help with the supervision of student assembly and chapel, and the academic success of athletic training students.

Marketing Faculty

Faculty rank commensurate with qualifications and experience. Teach undergraduate courses in the Department of Business Administration and graduate courses in the MBA program; advise undergraduate and graduate students; serve on university, school, and department committees; and, engage in professional development activities.
