Dear HPU Parents,

Every year Howard Payne hosts a weekend dedicated to our families. This event is an opportunity for you to experience a weekend at HPU and be a part of your student’s college experience. Below is a brief agenda of what to expect this year.


Friday, September 20, 2013
5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.—Family Weekend Check-in, Mabee University Center
6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.—Delta Chi Rho/Zeta Chi Talent Show, Mims Auditorium
7:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.—Coffee & Cupcakes, HPU President’s House

Saturday, September 21, 2013
8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.—Family Weekend Check-in continues, Mabee University Center
8:30 a.m. – 9:15 a. m.—Coffee & Breakfast, Beadel Dining Hall
9:30 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.—Student-Led Worship, Mims Auditorium
10:15 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.—Reliving the Payne: The First Five Weeks, Mims Auditorium
11:00 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.—Meet the Faculty, Beadel Dining Hall
11:45 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.—Family Weekend BBQ & Tailgate, Gordon Wood Stadium
1:00 p.m.—Football Game: HPU vs. Wayland Baptist, Gordon Wood Stadium

Cost per guest is $20, if paid by September 7. Following Sept. 7, the price will increase to $25 per guest. HPU students are free for the weekend! T-shirts for your family are available for $10 each in youth and regular sizes.

Payments can be made online through the registration form or a check can be sent to the Student Activities Office at the address below.

Please take note of the following information about entering campus and parking on Saturday morning, September 21: The Brownwood Reunion Celebration 5K/10K routes pass through the HPU campus and limit access into campus until approximately 8:45 a.m. Our first event is at 8:30 a.m., so please enter campus from Main Street/Hwy 377 at Whaley Street or via Clark Street from Austin Ave. Each of these entrances are near the north corner of campus. Parking lots near Mims Auditorium, the Thompson Academic Complex, and Veda Hodge Hall will be accessible during the 5K/10K races.
