Mobile go center

Howard Payne University’s Mobile Go Center (MGC) provides college-going resources to high school students and their families, and ultimately increases the number of students enrolled and succeeding in higher education programs in Texas. The MGC project is an extension of the College for All Texans Campaign’s broad efforts to assist students in the pursuit of higher education. The MGC was made possible through a grant from the Texas Pioneer Foundation.

Mobile Go Center Features

  • The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), including assistance with applying for PINs by students and parents
  • The Apply Texas common application
  • Scholarship searches and applications
  • College checklists
  • College guides and catalogs
  • HPU admission information

The MGC is a 42-foot trailer towed behind a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado. Its purpose is to support outreach and information delivery to students, families, community members and religious organizations. It assists in the recruitment efforts of the Office of Admission and increases higher education awareness throughout the state.

The MGC is fully equipped with two air conditioners/heaters, 17 laptop computers and internet access for wireless connectivity. The MGC is able to visit high schools, middle schools, community events, festivals, churches and youth events and provides a setting in which students, families and community members feel comfortable asking questions and receiving assistance in the college preparation process.
