HPU Sports Hall of Fame

This award is presented to individuals who are inducted into HPU's Sports Hall of Fame.

Criteria for selection:

1.) An athlete, through athletic achievement, must have brought distinction and honor to himself or herself, to Howard Payne University, to its intercollegiate athletic program, and graduated at least five years prior to nomination.

2.) A coach/athletic administrator must have completed his or her term of employment with the University at least five years prior to the nomination.

3.) If a non-athlete, the candidate shall be an individual who, in some manner, has made an extraordinary contribution to the success of the intercollegiate athletic program at Howard Payne University.

4.) The records of the person(s) considered shall be so outstanding that there will be little question as to the qualifications necessary for induction.

5.) A candidate may be chosen posthumously.

Nomination Information:   In order to provide the selection committees with sufficient information to make award decisions, it is the responsibility of the person making the nomination to include complete biographical information on the nominee as well as a thorough description of the nominee’s award qualifications.  Homecoming honorees should display personal and professional accomplishments representing the values and mission of Howard Payne University.  Honorees must be present (or have a representative present) at Homecoming.
