<< BackCancer awareness event renamed for HPU former first lady
BROWNWOOD – Nov. 4, 2011 – Howard Payne University held its annual breast cancer awareness walkathon recently, renaming the event in honor of cancer-survivor Brenda Newbury. Newbury is the wife of Howard Payne University chancellor and former president Dr. Don Newbury.
Fifteen teams composed of 135 raised more than $2,700 for Brownwood’s Walker Cancer Center. A check will be presented to the center on Monday, Nov. 7.
