Student Association of Social Work

The Student Association of Social Work (SASW) is a student-led organization that encourages members to become involved in our community with volunteer opportunities, education, advocacy and unity. The guiding principle of the SASW is “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” The SASW at HPU is an organization aimed at:

  • Enhancing the students’ learning and skill development in social work
  • Encouraging social change in the community
  • Promoting social and economic justice
  • Enhancing personal growth and development
  • Fostering unity among social work students
  • Promoting advocacy
  • Providing volunteer opportunities
  • Increasing student awareness of the social work profession

Membership is open to all HPU students, regardless of major. All social work majors and minors are encouraged to join. If you are interested in attending a meeting or joining the organization any time during the year, contact SASW president at audrey.spicer@hputx.edu.
