Graduates from Howard Payne University are prepared for traditional careers in music, theatre, communications, art and arts-related industries by excellent teachers who are accomplished and distinguished in their disciplines. However, instruction in the Fine Arts and Communication is about more than merely acquiring mechanistic skills that lead to materialistic ends. Achievement in the arts is based on creative thinking and it is creativity that prepares you for a future where the only constant is unpredictability. When new markets emerge, when career paths change, as disruptive innovation alters the very nature of professions, it will be those with creative capacities who will make the transition that will shape and transform the future.
