"A World War II veteran, he was an HPU graduate who later was assistant football coach, then head coach and AD. While HPU’s record against most Lone Star Conference football foes was average at best, almost all opponents were teams from state schools that outmanned us greatly. Never knew a man with more integrity. When he left HPU, he and his wife and their four children moved to Austin, where he received his Ph.D. degree in mathematics, teaching around 20 years at UT-Arlington."
