"A note about Dr. McChristy: She was absolutely fabulous! One of our alumni who received honorary doctorate was Blackie Sherrod, Dallas Morning News sportswriter who may have been the best in the world, never had a journalism class, but credited Dr. McChristy as being foundational for his profession. She taught him early in her career, and she taught me toward end of her career. Not sure why she lernt him more’n she lernt me!"
