Christopher B. Rosborough is Associate Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, TX where he teaches early music history, choral conducting, music technology, and directs the HPU Concert Choir, University Singers, and Heritage (Chapel Band). Additionally, he is the freshman advisor for the department of music.

Rosborough received the Doctor of Musical Arts from Louisiana State University, under the tutelage of Dr. John Dickson. While at LSU he was the assistant to Dr. Dickson and worked as assistant conductor in Tiger Men’s Glee, A Cappella, and Chamber Singers. In the summer of 2014 he was invited to sing in the C.S. Lewis Summer Institute Choir in Oxford and Cambridge. In 2019 HPU choirs were invited to sing Mozart’s Requiem in Vienna and Rosborough performed the tenor solos. He received his Master of Music in Vocal Performance with emphasis in Church Music from Mercer University, where he was the recipient of the Townsend School of Music Fellowship. He holds Bachelor’s degrees in Music Education and Vocal performance from Howard Payne University.

An avid performer from the podium and the stage, his professional highlights include conducting Joseph Haydn’s The Creation and singing the title role in Mozart’s Idomeneo. He studied voice under Robert Grayson, Dr. Richard Kosowski, and Dr. Gregory Church. He studied conducting under Dr. John Dickson, Dr. C. David Keith, Dr. Stanley Roberts, and Stephen Cleobury, C.B.E. of King’s College Cambridge. Rosborough plays an active role in music ministry in various genres and styles, from Medieval to Modern.

He has served at Milledgeville First United Methodist Church in Georgia, First United Methodist Church in Baton Rouge, LA, and is currently worship pastor at Midtown Church in Brownwood, TX. His research interests include the twentieth century English musical renaissance, musical-textual relationships in choral music, and the Hebrew roots of the Christian faith. Dr. Rosborough is most proud to be married to his wife Danielle, and to be “Daddy” to Gwendalyn and Brent David.
