S’mores and Jesus – A Women to Women Recap

By Jordan Givens | S’mores and Jesus, what else could a college girl want on a Monday night?

The first “Campfire Conversations” Women to Women event was held last Monday. The event was part of the Women to Women ministry for college girls organized by women in the HPU community.

The event focused on the theme of love. The college girls were asked to break into small groups with the “grown girls”, as Melinda Hines, HPU’s first lady, likes to call the older women involved, and talk about their viewpoints on how to love others and themselves.

Jordan Favors, a sophomore strategic communication major, felt comfortable upon arriving.

“This was my favorite women to women event since I’ve been at HPU. I loved how relaxed and welcoming the environment was,” said Favors.

The young women gathered around fire pits at the Bell Towers and had honest conversations about life and about Christ along with eating a s’more or two.

“The women were just as vulnerable with the students as the students were with them. I appreciated how relatable their experiences were and how they encouraged us in our walks of faith,” added Favors.
