The first classes at Howard Payne College were held on September 16, 1890 (pictured above). For 135 years, the university has remained committed to providing Christ-centered education and an engaging and enriching student experience. Join with us in celebrating all God has done through 135 years of the student experience at Howard Payne University and all that is to come!
PRAY
Faculty, staff, students, alumni, friends and community members are invited to join in praying for 135 minutes for HPU on Tuesday, Sept. 16 from 7:45 to 10:00 a.m. See the prayer guide below for prompts to pray during this time.
Give
As a way to invest in the future of Howard Payne University for generations to come, the HPU family is invited to give a gift of $1.35, $13.50, $135 or more to support the university.
CELEBRATE
Faculty, staff and students will join together for a come-and-go celebration of 135 years of the student experience on Tuesday between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. in Fambrough’s at the Mabee University Center. Dr. Hines will give remarks at noon. The first 135 students at the evening Encounter Week service on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. will receive a free gift. There will also be a special celebration photo taken immediately following the evening service.
