HPU to reschedule April 15 Chris Tomlin concert due to severe weather forecast
After consultation with public safety officials regarding the weather forecast, Howard Payne University (HPU) will reschedule the Chris Tomlin concert originally planned for Wednesday, April 15, at the Brownwood Event Center outdoor stage.
The university is working with Tomlin and his team to reschedule the concert for a future date and will announce details at a later time. Individual and group ticket reservations for Wednesday’s concert will be honored for the future event.
University officials have been monitoring weather conditions for several days. They consulted with local public safety officials and analyzed data from the National Weather Service. The current forecast for the next several days, including Wednesday evening, indicates a strong chance of severe weather.
“We have been so excited to bring Chris Tomlin to Brownwood. He and his team have been wonderful to work with these past months, and all parties are saddened to make this tough decision to reschedule,” said Dr. Cory Hines, president of Howard Payne University. “We know that many ticketholders planned to drive long distances to attend, so we wanted to make sure we provided as much advance notice as possible. We appreciate everyone’s understanding as we work with Mr. Tomlin and his team to schedule a future performance.”
Ticketholders are encouraged to monitor their emails and HPU channels for updates.
