Dr. Richard Jackson Endowed Chair of Biblical Preaching and Church Evangelism
Continuing the Legacy
Since its founding, Howard Payne University has trained and equipped pastors and ministers for church leadership and ministry in Texas and around the world. In Baptist life, there is an increasing need for senior pastors and church leaders who are laser-focused on the two main priorities of the church: biblical preaching and church evangelism.
In over 60 years of service, Dr. Richard and Mrs. Wanda Jackson have exemplified, through diligent devotion, a life ministry fixed on these two church functions. During his long tenure as pastor of the North Phoenix Baptist Church, Dr. Jackson led his church to baptize more than 22,000 people. Dr. Jackson’s previous pastorates also saw inspiring results of people in need of the saving message of Jesus Christ, discovering his love and forgiveness. From Calvary Baptist Church in May, Texas, to the North Phoenix Baptist Church, Arizona, biblical preaching and church evangelism has remained the first priority.
Be part of the legacy to both honor Dr. Richard Jackson, 1960 HPU graduate, and equip new pastors in his mold at Howard Payne University as we grow the Dr. Richard Jackson Endowed Chair of Biblical Preaching and Church Evangelism. Help us reach our funding goal of $1.5 million.
