BSM Ministries

Ministries of the HPU BSM

The are many ways to serve with the BSM including missions, evangelism, discipleship, prayer, worship, and church life. Read below to learn about the ways we serve our campus and community. You can also visit the Hub to learn more about how you can serve.

Missions and Evangelism Team

Community Missions – Students get together and make a difference by volunteering in the community at Good Samaritan Ministries, tutoring kids in need, and visiting local nursing homes.

State School Ministry – Female students spend an hour a week mentoring girls at the Ron Jackson State Juvenile Correctional Complex Unit II, located in Brownwood, only a few miles from campus.

Fundraising – Students provide financial support for their peers to go to the nations!

There are great opportunities to go and serve through Go Now Missions.

Discipleship and Prayer Team

Community Groups – Students coming together to read scripture, encourage and pray for one another.

Freshmen Council – This is a group of freshmen who are interested in serving in leadership positions during their college career.

Drama Ministry – Practicing skits, sharing life, and going out to perform all for the glory of God!

Pray and Do – Students who pray for others, and look for ways they can help answer those prayers.

Worship and Church Life Team

Campus Celebration – A student-led service on Thursday at 9pm twice a month. Students gather to worship and share what God is doing in their lives.

Disciple Now/5th Quarter – Students interested in ministering to youth go out to churches all around the state and lead Friday night and weekend events. Complete one of these forms to have someone contact you or your church about HPU students leading a Disciple Now or 5th Quarter.

Free Lunch – The BSM partners with local churches to feed students on campus once a week.

If your church would like to participate, please contact Bryan Pate at bpate@hputx.edu.
