SMS Opt-In Process

Howard Payne University obtains affirmative consent from individuals before sending SMS communications.

Individuals may provide a mobile phone number on a Howard Payne University online form. Providing a mobile phone number or submitting a University form does not constitute consent to receive SMS messages.

Where SMS messaging is offered, users are presented with a separate, optional SMS opt-in checkbox. The checkbox is unchecked by default, and users must affirmatively select it to consent to receiving SMS messages. The underlying form, including the Howard Payne University admissions application, may be submitted without selecting the SMS opt-in checkbox.

Only users who affirmatively select the SMS opt-in checkbox are considered opted in to receive SMS messages.
