Yellow Rose Scholarship Application

Congratulations! You have been selected as a candidate to receive the Yellow Rose Scholarship for 2025-2026 because you are going to be a junior in the fall of 2025, have at least a 3.0 GPA, have participated in extracurricular activities and exhibit leadership qualities representative of Christian values and beliefs foundational to HPU. Please submit a complete application with all the items detailed below by Friday, February 28, 2025, for consideration.

To be considered for the scholarship, please complete the application according to the following requirements.

A. In short answer format please answer the following questions:

• Reason you should be selected for the Yellow Rose Scholarship
• Your educational background
• Your active involvement in a local and/or hometown church
• Extra-curricular involvement on and off campus
• Public service
• Your plans for the future/post-graduation

B. In addition to the application, please submit a 500-word essay over the following questions:

• Who is a female mentor of yours who inspires you to be a better Christian, leader, and student? How does she inspire you?
• What does it look like to be a servant-leader of Christ on and off the Howard Payne University campus?

C. One letter of recommendation from an HPU faculty or staff member
