BROWNWOOD – April 17, 2026 – The Brownwood Community Chorus will present its annual HymnSing concert on Tuesday, April 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church Brownwood. The Brownwood Community Chorus is comprised of Howard Payne students and local musicians.
Dr. Chris Rosborough’08, director of choral activities and chair of the Department of Music, has programmed a broad sweep of styles and genres within the extensive body of hymns for the church. The goal of this concert to cultivate the tradition of congregational singing in an environment that can be enjoyed together.
Diane Deatherage, staff accompanist and rehearsal pianist for the ensemble, will accompany on piano and organ. She will be joined by Dr. Jacob Skiles, associate professor of music, on piano.
