HPU faculty members to present recital on Monday

Photo 2 - Wallace and Goacher 2018BROWNWOOD – April 20, 2018 – Howard Payne University’s Stephen Goacher, professor of music, and Dr. Elizabeth Wallace, chair of HPU’s Department of Music and professor of music, will present a faculty recital at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 23, in the university’s Grace Chapel.

“It is such a pleasure to work with a pianist of the caliber of Dr. Wallace, who is exceptional in the art of accompanying,” said Goacher. “We look forward to presenting these masterworks for woodwinds and piano to our students, colleagues and community.”

Music written for the flute, clarinet and alto saxophone – each accompanied by the piano – will be featured.

Selections to be performed include Jindrich Feld’s “Sonata for Flute and Piano,” Carl Maria von Weber’s “Grand Duo Concertante for Clarinet and Piano Opus 48” and “Scaramouche Suite for Alto Saxophone and Piano Opus 94 A.”
