Doss Foundation and TexasBank make $25,000 contribution to HPU scholarships

Howard Payne University recently received a donation of $25,000 in scholarship funds from the James and Dorothy Doss Foundation, Inc., given through TexasBank. The contribution was made to a fund established by the Doss Foundation and TexasBank in 2017 to help deserving students from the Heart of Texas area attend HPU.

Greg Dodds, TexasBank president and chief executive officer, made the presentation to Dr. Cory Hines, HPU president.

“Howard Payne University is very grateful for the generosity of the Doss Foundation and TexasBank,” said Dr. Hines. “Greg Dodds and the rest of our friends at TexasBank are deeply committed to the success of our area, and this contribution to help area students attend HPU is evidence of that.”

TexasBank is a community bank that serves customers in Brown, Comanche, Eastland and Erath Counties as well as all neighboring counties. TexasBank has 10 banking centers in the region.

“TexasBank is proud of its contributions toward helping those in our local communities pursue higher education,” said Dodds. “We are even more proud of the partnership with Howard Payne and the role that it continues to play in providing a quality college education based on a solid spiritual foundation. It is comforting to know that Howard Payne is helping develop young men and women to become future leaders of our community, state and nation.”

Applications are still being accepted for the fall 2019 semester at Howard Payne University (www.hputx.edu/apply). For more information about HPU, including the wide range of available financial aid options, contact HPU’s Office of Admission at 325-649-8020 or by e-mail at enroll@hputx.edu.
