HPU hosts Brownwood Art Association exhibit through October 27

Self-Curated 2BROWNWOOD – October 17, 2017 – While on the Howard Payne University campus for Homecoming 2017 celebrations this weekend, the community is encouraged to stop by the Dorothy and Wendell Mayes Art Gallery in the university’s Doakie Day Art Center. There, the Department of Art is hosting an art exhibit titled “Brownwood Art Association Self-Curated 2” through Friday, October 27.

The art exhibit, by members of the Brownwood Art Association, features works of art including photography, acrylic and oil paintings, and pencil and watercolor sketches.

Gallery hours during Homecoming weekend, October 20-21, are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Regular gallery hours are Mondays, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; and Fridays, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Doakie Day Art Center is located on the HPU campus, on Center Avenue, near Lipscomb Street in Brownwood.
