HPU presents “Junie B. Jones: The Musical”

junie b for webBROWNWOOD – November 20, 2014 – Howard Payne University is presenting “Junie B. Jones: The Musical,” a fun show for the entire family, this Friday and Saturday at the university’s Mims Auditorium. Performances are November 21 at 1 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and November 22 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults and $4 for students.

Adapted from the popular Junie B. Jones series of books by Barbara Park, the musical was created by Marcy Heisler and Zina Goldrich.

“Many children and parents have fallen in love with the stories of Junie B. Jones and enjoy the honest narrative of life through the eyes of this energetic child,” said Dr. Celeste Church, associate professor of music and chair of the Department of Music. “When I happened upon this musical I knew that families in our community would want to see these characters come to life.”
