BROWNWOOD – May 7, 2020 – Howard Payne University recently honored 69 students for their academic achievements in the 2019-20 school year. Award recipients represent majors, minors and other programs from the university’s seven schools and the Guy D. Newman Honors Academy.
For the first time, the Mrs. Dallas B. Sherman and Dr. Othal Brand Award for Scholarship and Citizenship was combined and awarded to all five students in the Guy D. Newman Honors Academy graduating cohort of May 2020, in recognition of their unprecedented scholastic excellence and continued service to HPU and their local communities in the face of unprecedented circumstances.
