HPU student Tiffany Davis receives CIC/UPS Scholarship

BROWNWOOD – November 16, 2023 – Howard Payne University student Tiffany Davis, a nursing major from San Francisco, California, has been selected as a recipient of a CIC/UPS Scholarship provided by Independent Colleges and Universities of Texas and its national partner, the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) through its CIC/UPS Educational Endowment.

Davis is majoring in nursing because she sees it as a career in which she can work closely with people and serve them.

“I’m a huge people person,” Davis said. “I love people. Nursing is God’s call on my life.”

She expressed how thankful she is for the scholarship as she continues her education.

“Getting this scholarship means a lot to me,” she said. “I don’t have family here, and this helps me a lot as I work to support myself and focus on my studies.”

Davis chose to come to HPU because she wanted her faith to be central to her educational experience.

“Knowing that the nursing program is faith based and being in that type of environment have been great and inspiring for me,” said Davis. “Being here has brought me closer to God.”
